Delta Airlines forced to cancel ATL-NBO and JFK-MLW flights by TSA. - June 03, 2009

The last minute cancellation of the Delta flights to Nairobi and Monrovia sure put a wrench in many summer travel plans! If you've purchased a ticket on Delta for either of those routes, you will need to contact them or your travel agent right away to try to be re-protected on partner carriers. While they sent out a release to advise everyone they would be re-protecting passengers, they were not prepared to handle the re-accommodations on Tuesday and even into Wednesday. They were in a whirlwind of trying to find something for the passengers leaving that day or the day after, they weren't able to look beyond to help other passengers that were scheduled a week or two out, at the start of high season. The problem with that is as you get deeper into summer, the existing flight routes(slim pickings to start with) are already very heavily saturated. Add in another 200 passengers per day and you get pure mayhem! My word of advice, if you're holding a purchased ticket, call quickly, be nice and be persistant! Don't accept NO for an answer! Good Luck!
